Welcome to "Story O'Clock!"

I am so happy you are here.

Allow me to introduce myself! I have been an early childhood educator for nearly 15 years, and I love, love, L O V E connecting with children. When I was young(er), I had two ambitions: one was to teach (of course!) and the other was to be a host of a children’s tv show. I enjoy performing, and I looooooove being silly and dramatic, telling stories, dressing up in costumes, acting out skits, and playing pretend! There’s magic in fuelling imagination within children and having them make-believe with you. Being an early childhood educator helped me realised both dreams (kinda..?)…but now that I no longer am one, this is a part of that life that I don’t want to let go:

Storytelling. Drama. And performing.

When classes migrated online to ZOOM during the Circuit Breaker in 2020, not being able to physically connect with my class children and missing my everyday teaching responsibilities motivated me to post storytelling videos online. I was sure that as much as I missed being in the classroom, the children do, too! At the same, I wanted to give parents respite from all the home-based learning, so they can enjoy a quick breather while their children enjoyed a story on screen. These videos were met with a lot of support and love from friends and followers. But now, more than storytelling through videos, I truly wanted to connect with each and everyone of you. Whether you’re a child, a parent, a fellow educator, or perhaps even a kid-at-heart, I’d love for you to come and experience the magic and wonderment of stories with me!

And so, with a huge leap of faith, I started "Story O'Clock!"

"Story O'Clock!" was created with two intentions. One, to reconnect with my fellow early childhood educators who I KNOW are amazing storytellers and together, and believe can create unforgettable get-togethers with me where children and adults alike can meet, enjoy a good book, and completely immerse themselves in a story experience like no other.

And two, I want to bring to you QUALITY and ENGAGING experiences that goes beyond telling stories.

Let's extend it with drama, let's get creative with a craft, and let's conclude with a sing-a-long;

the fun shouldn't stop at the end of a book! I want very much for our young readers to know that

the magic of a book can be experienced even outside of its pages. And who knows?

Maybe you, dear parent and fellow educator, are able to pick up a thing or two

about storytelling that you can bring back home or into the classroom!
